The Parents’ Choice Gold award for Darrell’s collection of humorous poems for kids and families was a shock. Recorded in his mother-in-law’s walk in closet whenever she went out of town, it was produced on a shoestring budget and he still laughs at the recognition and respect the CD receives. The recording was certainly the easy part. The 36 poems were selected from a wealth of material created over a lifetime. The subject matter is a combination of inspiration, things his kids said and did, and parental observations. His delivery makes it all the more personal and laughs are positively guaranteed.
